Singer and story teller through melodies and harmonies.
Courus moved from the small town Uitenhage to the big city Johannesburg in June 2018 with dreams of taking her craft and artistry to the next level.
She sings various styles of music and is passionate about Neo soul & Jazz. Courus’ sound is a fusion of genres from Neo soul to Hip Hop to Contemporary Jazz to Soul and RnB - a blend of all her favorite genres.
Highlights of her career to date are winning the 947 Huawei Joburg day performing on one of South Africa's biggest stages. In November 2021 she was a supporting act at the Jazz Extravaganza where Judith Sephuma was the headliner. At various festivals she opened for artists like Vusi Nova, Zahara, the late Thami Shobede. She sang background vocals for the Twotone Orchestra for Lira & Judith Sephuma at the Divas in Spring concert in 2016 and sees the release of her debut EP, “I'm Up” (2020) as a milestone in her career.
Her goal is to get her music aired globally and to get her message out into the world. Her sound is something different. It is healing, relatable and would make a great contribution towards the music industry.
Courus strives to create and bring back or re-erect timeless music whilst fusing it with relevance sonically.
