Notshi Killah-bee

Bio

One who has used his home language and dope beats to grab the audience is rapper Notshi.

Born Kabelo Oageng (30), the MoTswana rapper has proven that he is a force to be reckoned with.

The artist who is known for his clean Motswako flow and never shy to tell it like it is, is set to take over the music movement.

Notshi hails from Itsoseng township, near Mafikeng, North West in South Africa found his voice in 2004 at the age of 14 while in high school where he recorded his first track and unleashed the wordsmith in him.

His talents and career unfolded while trying to find himself but one can say that music found him and he was well on his way to being with the greats.

“I fell in love with Eminem, I am a fan to this day. With his influence I began writing my own material and would perform it at school behind school toilets with my friends and build my own flow and style,” says Notshi.

His path took a turn in 2007 when he met DJ and producer Lemonka. His street cred had risen as he participated in cyphers and had recorded a lot of songs.

When Lemonka released his mixtape in 2008 which featured the likes of award winning stars, HHP, Mr Mo Molemi, TowdeeMac and Khuli Chana, Notshi was also featured putting the spotlight on him. He relocated to Joburg where he had his mind set on working.

The rising star who is not new to the music scene released his debut album, Insert Coin in 2010, although it did not well on the market it was the solid introduction he needed into the music industry.

On the album he worked with big names such as IVY League, Molemi and Maxhoba to mention a few.

Towards the end of 2011 I got a call from Khuli Chana who wanted us to work together again. Got in studio and two months later Tswa Daar was dropped,” added Notshi.

The track went on to be one of the biggest collaborations and hit singles in Mzansi. It bagged nominations and won them an award at the 2013 Metro FM Awards for Best Collaboration Of The Year.

He dropped a couple of singles from that year onwards such as "Kgora" , "Sunshine and Rainbow" and a couple of free tracks on the internet.
He has featured on a couple of albums such as HHP's Dumela, Tuks Senganga's Manufika.

In April 2020 Notshi (which means bee) also known to his fans as "Killer Bee" released a smash hit titled "Let's Get It On" under his new label Lebzatainment, featuring the "Aunty" hit maker KID-X. The song is still doing rounds on couple of radio stations and TV channels.

Notshi just released his brand new single tittled "Lematsa". The song which has an old school and raw Motswako sound with punchlines and crazy flows that we all know Notshi with, is just what the...
