Jah Cure in Zimbabwe for a debut Performance
Jamaican reggae star, Jah Cure, is in Harare, Zimbabwe for a debut performance at the Harare International Conference Centre on Friday, 16 December.
Winky D and reggae outfit Transit Crew are among the top local artists who will support the Jamaican musician.
The ‘Call On Me’ hit-maker whose real name is Siccature Alcock, brought his 12-man band to the country. The reggae musician was brought courtesy of 2 Kings Entertainment.
Dee Nosh, the spokesperson of 2 Kings Entertainment, said, “After the Morgan Heritage concert, Jah Cure’s show promises to be yet another great show of the year, as we continue to receive an overwhelming response from fans. As organisers, we are working hard to make sure that everything goes well.”
Raised in Kingston, the musician was named Jah Cure by fellow musician Capleton whom he met while growing up in Kingston. His first big break came in March 1997 when he released the single ‘King in this Jungle’, a duet he did with Sizzla. Beres Hammond, who went on to become his mentor, produced the single. He then released a steady stream of singles that won him critical and popular acclaim. Beres Hammond eventually took Cure under his tutelage and began mentoring him and producing his music in the studio. Since then, Jah Cure has become a force to reckon in the Jamaican reggae music industry and the world over. He has released seven albums.
2 Kings Entertainment have taken the showbiz by storm by bringing the most sought-after international artists into the country, among them are celebrated Grammy award-winning group The Royal Family of Reggae Morgan Heritage and Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz.
Tickets are going for $15 ordinary, $25 VIP and $40 VVIP. They can be purchased at various outlets such as Sopranos Coffee Shop in Avondale, Joina City Mattress shop, Farrel Furniture Shop, Borrowdale Samsung shop, Newlands and Westgate Coloursel Furniture shops.
