Call for applications: Writing residency in Switzerland
The Jan Michalski Foundation for writing and literature in Montricher, Switzerland, is accepting applications for its international residency program in February 2022.
While writers and translators are given priority, composers, performers and musicians whose writing is at the centre of their project can also apply. The foundation can grant a residency for individual projects or projects in pairs. The residency can either last two weeks or six months.
Note:
- The Jan Michalski Foundation reserves the right to suggest another period depending on availability.
- There are no age or nationality restrictions.
- Beginners are accepted.
Selection process
Applicants will be selected based on:
- The quality of the project.
- The candidate's professional background.
- Whether or not the duration of the stay matches the scope of the project.
- Their motivations (this applies only to beginners).
Remuneration
Selected candidates will be contacted individually with a proposal for a possible period of residence. The Jan Michalski Foundation will offer residents the following:
- Travel costs to and from their home address.
- A monthly allowance of 1200 CHF ($1 334).
- Food and accommodation.
- Local transportation.
Note:
- Residents have free access to the library during the day.
- Residents are free to participate in cultural activities organized by the foundation.
- Unsuccessful applicants will not be notified.
