ACCES highlights: José Da Silva
José Da Silva will speak at ACCES 2017 and share his vast experience and knowledge in African music.
Da Silva, 57, heads up Sony Music Entertainment in Côte d’Ivoire.
Before joining Sony, Da Silva produced and distributed many successful African artists including Cape Verdean songstress Cesária Évora, Meiway (Cote d’Ivoire), Bonga (Angola), Boubacar Traoré (Mali), and the late Oliver N'Goma (Gabon).
Da Silva believes that music strengthens the ties between communities, preserves musical traditions and improves continuously through the study and practice of music techniques.
"It's a pleasure to have José Da Silva as a speaker at ACCES 2017," said Eddie Hatitye, director of the Music In Africa Foundation.” He is an outstanding player in our sector and he is above all, an advocate for African music. We have a lot to learn from him and we look forward to his contributions.”
