Call for applications: Mavin X Audio Girl Bootcamp in Lagos
Nigeria-based Afrobeats label Mavin Records and the Audio Girl Foundation are inviting applications for a five-day female-only bootcamp in commemoration of International Women’s Day this March.
The workshop, slated for 13 to 17 March, seeks to provide young female creatives with practical guidelines for creating, producing and mixing music, as well as releasing and marketing their music.
It adds to recent initiatives by the label to develop the next generation of industry professionals. In 2021, the company launched the Mavin Future Five leadership programme, which took aspiring industry leaders through training, mentoring and internships in digital, artist relations, public relations, promotions and creative marketing.
The open call applies to up-and-coming female creatives in the music industry – such as songwriters, independent artists, producers and sound engineers – who are serious about advancing their music/audio career to the next level are being sought. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best minds in the industry at Mavin Global.

Selection criteria
Applicants must:
- Must be female (age 18 to 30).
- Must have at least one year of experience (internship also qualifies).
- Must have links to work samples or portfolios.
- Must be in Lagos and be able to attend physically.
Note: Due to the expected high volume of applications, the organisers will not be able to get back to every applicant about the status of their application, and will only reach out to successful applicants via email. The successful applicants will be announced on 8 March.
Led by veteran producer Don Jazzy, Mavin Records is home to popstars Rema, Ayra Starr, Ladipoe, Boy Spyce, Bayanni, Magixx, Crayon and Johnny Drille. Mavin delivers 360-degree label services including management, publishing, sync, production and strategic partnerships.
