Call for applications: NewComma fund for African creatives
Applications are ongoing for the March cycle of the NewComma Creative Fund for African creatives.
NewComma is a social media platform seeking to help African creatives to network, generate, learn and earn. The fund is informed by a vision to support upcoming African creatives.
The open call applies to professionals and enthusiasts who require a small financial boost to initiate or maintain their creative projects. Every month, NewComma will award a one-time contribution of £100 (about $120) to support a creative project.
Applicants can submit up to three projects to be reviewed per month.
Eligibility
To apply, individuals must:
- Be of African descent (living in or outside the continent).
- Be a practising creative.
- Be between the ages of 18 and 35.
- Be signed up to NewComma.
How to apply
- Exhibit: Participants must showcase the best of their creative work in their portfolio by utilising the NewComma project builder.
- Submit: Drop the project link on the application form here.
Applications close on 31 March.
NOTE:
- The judges will only consider applications with NewComma project links. The embed block can be used to add work from various platforms such as YouTube, Figma and Spotify to the NewComma project before submission.
- The quality of creative effort is highly valued and should be demonstrated by including fine details about the project and the process behind its creation in the submitted NewComma project.
- Applicants should also provide a detailed explanation about how the £100 micro-grant will support their creative endeavours within their application.
- To increase visibility of their work, individuals should promote their projects by sharing links to their NewComma projects with the hashtag #NCFund.
