Rwanda: Karambizi to drop Ejo EP on 28 June
Rwandan singer and producer Karambizi has announced the release date for his new EP titled Ejo.
The five-track Afro-fusion project, which will be available on 28 June on all major digital music retailers and streaming platforms, marks the artist’s first release under Green Ferry Music entertainment company.
On the upcoming record, Karambizi teams up with distinguished Rwandan producer Dr Nganji to bring to life the EP. It also features additional saxophone melodies by Israel ‘Pappy’ Kubwimana.
Karambizi describes the process of recording this EP as experimental. “I am a multi-genre artist borrowing from both traditional Rwandan music styles such as ikinyemera and karahanyuze as well as contemporary Afrobeats, Afro-swing, Afro-pop, hip hop, soul and R&B sounds,” Karambizi said.
“I always try to find a way of combining two or more genres to create something new and beautiful that has never been heard before. I am inspired by the love of music and the expression of oneself through arts.”
“Ejo in Kinyarwanda means tomorrow. Tomorrow is the most important day in our lives. Tomorrow is today’s dream. Working on our dreams can improve our future. That’s what the EP is all about: self-awareness, self-development and manifestation,” Karambizi added.
The project follows his previous EPs, Normal Boy and Autumn Summer, both produced by KennyVibz.
