Zim: SaintFloew collaborates with SA rapper Kwesta on Bag RaJahman
Zimbabwean hip hop artist SaintFloew has teamed up with South African rap heavyweight Kwesta on an exciting new single titled ‘Bag RaJahman’.
The song is a cross-border collaboration that showcases the fusion of two unique musical styles, blending Zimbabwean and South African influences to create a dynamic anthem celebrating the hustle and the desire for success.
‘Bag RaJahman’ opens with a kwaito-influenced beat, which immediately sets the tone with its smooth, rhythmic bounce. The production, helmed by KayzMade It, Money Cure, and Jamal No Limits, seamlessly integrates the old-school flavour of kwaito with modern hip hop, creating a sound that appeals to both fans of nostalgic township rhythms and contemporary rap.
Kwesta takes the lead with his signature deep-toned rap verses, delivered in English, as he effortlessly rides the beat, laying down his lyrical reflections on money, ambition, and the struggles of rising to the top. His verses speak to the drive for success that resonates across the continent.
SaintFloew follows up with powerful Shona rap verses, bringing a unique Zimbabwean flavour to the track. In his lyrics, he expresses admiration for Kwesta’s success and openly declares his desire to “ndoda bag sera Jahman (have money like Kwesta).” SaintFloew’s flow is sharp and energetic, demonstrating his lyrical prowess while paying homage to his South African collaborator.
The accompanying music video, directed by Slowsman Films, was shot in the high-density suburbs that shaped the careers of both artists. The visuals capture the raw and vibrant essence of these urban neighbourhoods, highlighting the streets, local hangouts, and communities that influence their music and stories. The video perfectly complements the song’s message of ambition and the pursuit of wealth, as it showcases everyday scenes from the township that inspire the hustle.
Throughout the video, the kwaito-inspired beat is matched by slow, deliberate dance moves that reflect the song’s laid-back yet confident vibe. Dancers, dressed in streetwear, add a visual element to the music, performing movements that echo the rhythm of the song, giving the video a lively but grounded feel.
‘Bag RaJahman’ is not just a collaboration between two talented artists; it’s a cross-cultural celebration of Southern African music, mixing Zimbabwean and South African influences in both sound and style. As SaintFloew and Kwesta come together on this track, they deliver a message of ambition, resilience, and the power of collaboration in African music.
