Participate in study on artistic and cultural mobility in Africa
As part of its Deconfining project, Tunis-based Culture Funding Watch (CFW) is launching a study that aims to analyse artistic and cultural mobility in Africa.
Founded in 2014, CFW serves as a hub for artists and arts organisations, providing access to information and resources on art and culture funding, offering customised resource mobilisation services and building sustainability capacity while encouraging evidence-based advocacy for sustainable and responsible art funding.
Deconfining is a four-year EU-funded project that seeks to unite cultural practitioners, artists, policymakers and audiences from Europe and Africa, while establishing equitable cultural connections between Europe and Africa through enhanced cooperation.
The Deconfining Arts, Culture and Policies in Europe and Africa research project will create new equitable cultural links between both continents. Through enhanced cooperation between the two continents, the project brings together cultural practitioners, policymakers, performing artists, media/visual artists, field universities and audiences.
Together, they will explore and demonstrate new ways of intercontinental artistic and cultural cooperation, contributing to a better understanding of confinement patterns from different points of view, from an intercontinental perspective.
The carriers of the project aspire to free themselves from paternalistic and colonial views in favour of a strong participative attitude, by offering better access and information for intercontinental mobility and transnational co-creation.
Individuals and organisations involved in the arts, culture, and creative sectors and interested in participating in CFW’s study may complete the online form here.
