Call for registration: ACP-EU Culture Programme webinar
The ACP-EU Culture Programme is inviting interested participants to register for a webinar titled Towards a Sustainable Cultural and Creative Industry in African, Caribbean and Pacific Countries on 9 and 10 June.
This event is organised jointly by the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (ACP) and the European Union (EU) with the technical support of Culture Solutions and Nookom.
It will feature high-profile speakers from across Africa and around the world, including Josh Nyapimbi (Zimbabwe), Luc Mayitoukou (Congo-Brazzaville/Senegal), Ayeta Anne Wangusa (Tanzania), Eddie Hatitye (South Africa), Mercedes Giovinazzo (Spain) and Michael Uwedemino (Nigeria), among many others.
They will discuss issues ranging from the participation of youth and women in the cultural and creative industries, youth and cultural education and post-COVID recovery, including topics such as Digital Acceleration: New Horizons for the Cultural and Creative Industries, Gender and Culture: Diversity, Participation and Leadership in the Creative Industries, Unlocking the Potential of Cultural and Creative Industries: Sustainable Growth and Decent Jobs, Towards a More Inclusive Cultural and Creative Industry: From Principles to Reality and Youth and Cultural Literacy: Investing in the Future.

Launched in 2019 and with a budget of €40m ($49m) for the period 2019-24, the ACP-EU Culture Programme seeks to promote entrepreneurship and cultural and technological innovation, especially among young people in African, Caribbean and Pacific countries.
With the online event, the organisers seek to:
- Put into perspective the ACP-EU Culture Programme’s actions in support of cultural and creative industries in ACP countries.
- Address the issues and challenges of a sector that has been strongly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and is currently in the process of becoming resilient.

- Implementing partners of the ACP-EU Culture Programme.

“This meeting is the ideal framework to highlight the potential of the actions of the ACP-EU Culture Programme, to anchor them in the current issues that have an impact on the sustainability of cultural and creative industries in ACP countries,” the organisers said.
