The Monkey Nuts
Bio
The Monkey Nuts is a band from Harare, Zimbabwe. The band consists of Tino Tagwireyi (keys), Impi Maphangs (guitar and vocals) and Joshua Chiundiza (producer and emcee).
Following their first ever performance at the famed Mannenberg Café in Harare, The Monkey Nuts went on to headline their first ever concert at the invitation of French Cultural Organisation Alliance Française in April 2011. They then performed at The Streets Live, a mini hip hop festival, headlined by Congo’s Lexxus Legal (runner-up in the prestigious Radio France International Discovery Competition).
The Monkey Nuts performed at the Braun Battle of the Year break dance world cup Africa qualifiers in August 2011. The month of September sees the Monkey Nuts have also performed at the Shoko International Spoken Word and Hip Hop Festival in Harare.
The band has performed alongside international hip hop acts such as Akala, Tumi and the Volume as well as Hired Gun.
