Kènu Xhèviosso

Xhèviosso is a Beninese group made up of six multi-instrumentalist musicians (blowers, multiple percussion, bass, guitar) who live mainly in Benin. Their style, Orijazz, is characterized by a diversity of rhythms and vocal harmonies rooted largely in the Gulf of Benin (Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria).
It's a fusion that blends modern and traditional West African music with jazz accents. To prepare their album, the group toured Benin for 12 dates in 2022 and France for 10 dates between April and June in 2023. The group performed at the Printemps des Nefs festival in Nantes.
In Benin, the group has already performed numerous times on Cotonou's various cultural stages. After three years of honing and maturing, the album release concert took place on Thursday August 31, 2023 in Cotonou. The album JALAVODO has been available online on platforms since December 8, 2023.
