Open call: Moto Moto Festival 2025
Zimbabwean artists residing at home or in the diaspora are invited to submit applications for the 2025 edition of Moto Moto Festival in Cologne, Germany, on 19 July.
The event, which will run under the theme Celebrating Zimbabwean Culture and Music to the World, seeks to showcase the vibrant culture and music of the Southern Africa nation.
This call offers a unique platform for Zimbabwean musicians to showcase their talents to an international audience, fostering cultural exchange and global recognition. Whether they are solo artists, bands or ensembles, this is their chance to be part of a festival that highlights the rich musical heritage of Zimbabwe.
Eligibility
- Open to Zimbabwean artists residing in Zimbabwe or in the diaspora.
- All musical genres are welcome, reflecting the diverse soundscape of Zimbabwean music.
How to apply?
Interested musicians are invited to submit their applications through the official Moto Moto Festival Google Form. The application requires details such as artist biography, a description of the artist’s performance, links to music, and a motivation for participating in the festival. Additionally, artists should outline what they bring to the festival and why they should be selected.

Selection process
Applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges, and selected artists will be notified by 2 February 2025. The selection criteria will focus on the quality of music, originality, and the artist’s potential contribution to the festival’s theme.
