Open call: National Arts Council of South Africa members
South Africa’s minister of sport, arts and culture, Gayton McKenzie, is inviting members of the arts fraternity and the public to nominate individuals to serve as members of the National Arts Council (NAC).
Nominated candidates should possess special knowledge and experience in the fields of arts, management, finance, human resources, law, marketing and liaison, fundraising, and a willingness to render community service. The remuneration of the appointed council members will be in line with the rates prescribed by the National Treasury.
Anyone wishing to nominate individuals to serve as council members of the NAC should submit the following documentation:
- A nomination letter containing the full name and all contact details of the nominee.
- A statement letter signed by the nominee in which he or she accepts the nomination.
- Recently updated curriculum vitae of the nominees, including three contactable references.
- Certified copies of the nominee’s identity documents as well as educational qualifications.
No nomination will be considered unless all the above documents are included. Correspondence will only be entered into with shortlisted candidates. The names of the nominees, including the dates, time of the interviews as well as the final list of appointed candidates will be published on the websites of the NAC and the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) to enable members of the public to participate in the appointment process as required by the NAC Act (Act No 56 of 1997).
Nominations should be sent to DSAC’s acting director-general before 7 September 2024 via email at naccouncil@dsac.gov.za.
