SA: Mahindra to launch Fusion Fest in 2025
Mahindra South Africa has announced the launch of Fusion Fest, an event celebrating music, fashion, and art. The festival, slated for 22 February 2025 at the SunBet Arena in Time Square, Pretoria, promises to showcase the cultural richness and creative dynamism of South Africa.
As the company enters its third decade in South Africa, it aims to celebrate the country’s vibrancy, diversity, and resilience with Fusion Fest.
“The Mahindra Fusion Fest is more than just a festival; it is a bold statement of Mahindra’s evolution in South Africa,” Mahindra South Africa CEO Rajesh Gupta said. “It reflects our commitment to embracing the vibrancy, diversity, and creativity of this incredible nation, our second home.”
Fusion Fest seeks to unite South Africans through groundbreaking musical collaborations, bold fashion showcases, and innovative art installations. Mahindra describes the event as more than a festival, calling it a “cultural movement” that celebrates the country’s diversity while fostering a sense of belonging.
Gupta added: “Through this celebration of music, fashion, and art, we are creating a platform that unites communities, inspires innovation, and amplifies the voices of South Africa’s youth. As we step into our third decade, the Fusion Fest symbolizes the future of Mahindra—a future rooted in boldness, innovation, and a deeper connection with every individual who shares this journey with us.”
Music will be at the heart of the festival, with four unique fusion performances that blend distinct genres and cultural influences. These performances will feature some of South Africa’s most celebrated artists such as Cassper Nyovest, Zandile, Radio Kalahari Orkes, Sjava, Matthew Mole, Tarryn Lamb, Mi Casa, Young Stunna, K.O., Kamo Mphela, Sipho “Hot Stix” Mabuse and Aymos.
These performances will be followed by individual sets from each artist, offering audiences a blend of groundbreaking collaborations and familiar hits. To support emerging talent, Mahindra will also launch a national music talent search in early 2025, giving aspiring musicians the chance to perform on stage at the festival.
The festival will also feature an exclusive fashion showcase led by renowned South African designer Thula Sindi, who will debut the Mahindra Line, a collection inspired by the sleek designs of Mahindra SUVs. Festival attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase limited-edition merchandise designed by Sindi. In addition, Mahindra will launch a fashion talent search, providing up-and-coming designers a platform to present their creations at the event. This initiative underscores the company’s dedication to nurturing local talent across creative industries.
Art will play a central role in Fusion Fest, with immersive installations and interactive exhibits that reflect the festival’s theme of blending tradition with modernity. These displays will celebrate South Africa’s cultural heritage while incorporating global influences, creating a vibrant and inclusive artistic experience.
