SA: ProKid tops MTV Base hottest MCs of all-time list

In second place is another recently departed rapper, HHP, while seasoned rapper Stogie T claimed third place.

“Understanding that hip hop has touched millions of South Africans with its message of social consciousness, MTV Base (DStv channel 322) paid tribute to the genre by appreciating Mzansi’s living and passed hip hop giants in an hour-long panel discussion,” a statement reads.

“The panel revised the list based on criteria that analysed the musicians’ bars and lyrics, impact, commercial success, buzz, intangibles and on notoriety.”

The TV special was hosted by Scoop Makhathini and featured a panel comprising Helen Herimbi, Rashid Kay, Kenzhero, DJ Switch, DJ Sabza and Nota.
