Black Dillinger
Bio
Reggae artist Black Dillinger was born Nkululeko Madolo in Gugulethu, Cape Town in 1983 and grew up amidst anti-apartheid protests. He started performing in 1999. In 2004 his song ‘Big Trouble’ was featured in the renowned German magazine Riddim. Soon the young Rastafarian was invited to play his first gig in Europe. It took just one performance at Berlin’s famous Yaam Club to convince Ganjaman, top producer at German reggae label MKZWO, of his potential. He decided to extend his stay and soon began to record. In April 2007, his debut album 'Live And Learn' was released, featuring reggae artists from South Africa, Germany and Jamaica.
He established himself on the European reggae scene, playing big festivals like the Summer Jam and Chiemsee. He has also released singles such as ‘America’ and ‘It’s Alright’. His second album 'Love Life' (2009) was recorded over two years at IMmusic studios in Berlin and also features African, Caribbean and European artists and producers. In 2011 he released his third album, 'Better Tomorrow' on Rich Vibes Records. Drawing on roots, dancehall, R&B and Soca, the singer has earned comparisons to Jamaican superstar Sizzla. He continues to spend his time between Germany and South Africa.
