Call for entries: Ghana DJ Awards 2019

DJs or their representatives are invited to submit their work for consideration by the Ghana DJ jury. The submitted work, which could take the form of a mixtape, released music or two-minute video showing a scratch session, should be submitted along with an entry form and a professional photo of the DJ.

Some of the categories requiring submissions include:

• DJ/Artist Collaboration of the Year
• DJ Discovery of The Year
• DJ's Song of The Year
• Best Event DJ of The Year
• Artist DJ of The Year
• Scratch DJ of The Year
• Best Mobile DJ of The Year
• Mixtape of The Year
• Best Video Jockey of The Year
• Best Club MC of The Year
• Best Night Club DJ of The Year
• Best Female Radio DJ of The Year
• Best Male Radio DJ of The Year
• Best Female DJ of The Year

Besides the categories for which submissions are required, the awards, which are organised by Merqury Republic, will award an individual or group with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

“The prestige associated with induction and receipt of the Lifetime Achievement Award is projected to exceptional individuals and/or groups who are recognised as leaders of our industry,” Merqury Republic events coordinator Felicia Bazie said.

“Induction is not limited to any one candidate per year. Inductees will receive an official Ghana DJ Award inscribed with their name and will be recognised with a synopsis of their history and contributions through a formal segment presented by selected peers and colleagues during the Ghana Awards gala.”

Fans of the art of deejaying are invited to nominate their favorite DJs and MCs across the world who are in the business of promoting music from Ghana.

Work submitted for consideration must have been released between 1 February 2018 and 1 February 2019. The public nomination process will take place from 2 April to 10 May 2019.
