Theo Thomson

Bio

Theo Thomson is one of the top and popular RnB figures to emerge out of Malawi. He is a songwriter and owner of record label Matalala Recording Studio. His music is a combination of urban and RnB. He grew up in Malawi and the UK. His passion for music developed while in the U.K. His father, Oscar Thompson, a former DJ and owner of FM 101 Power radio, influenced him. Theo is also grandson to Harry Thomson a former Minister of Trade and Industry.

He claimed fame in 2010 following the release of his debut album ‘Gypsy’. Since then, he never stopped recording. He heightened his fame with the ‘So Amazing’ song. The track received overwhelming support from local radio stations. Some of his songs are: 'Kadona' featuring Piksy, 'Awake', 'Gypsy' and many others.

He has done collaborations with a handful local artists like Tay Grin, on his track ‘Maybe This Maybe Love’ , Tapps Bandawe's ‘One Love One Heart’ just to list a few.
