Spotify launches SA indie playlist

Spotify has launched the indie/alternative playlist that features only South African artists.

The playlist is live on the indie/alternative hub for fans to follow and check in for regular updates.

“Indie/alternative music fans are in for a treat with Spotify’s new 100% South African playlist,” Spotify said. “Spotify has launched an exciting new indie/alternative playlist featuring only local talent.

“SAlt will cover the freshest indie jams from artists such as Cape Town based group Honeymoon, The World of Birds with their recent release ‘Honey Money’, indie country group The Great Yawn and so much more.”

Over the last year, Spotify said, there had been a growing demand for indie and alternative music on the South African market.

“Fans can find their favourite local indie/alternative, artists under SA Rock Essentials or Chilled Vibes playlists, by curating SAlt Spotify thereby shining a spotlight on the genre and further support its growth in the local market.”
