DJ Lisa

DJ Lisa is a highly energetic and versatile individual, excelling as a radio DJ, newscaster, host, and mix DJ. Born in 1998, she hails from a small family of five. Lisa's passion for music has been ingrained in her since childhood, and it was no surprise that she pursued a career in radio DJing immediately after completing her high school education in 2016.

Her journey as a mix DJ truly began when she had the privilege of being mentored by one of Zambia's finest female DJs, Ms Selfie. Under Ms Selfie's guidance, Lisa learned the essential skills and qualities required for a female DJ to thrive in the industry. In 2019, she participated in the female DJ residency Rackless Nkazi, which provided her with invaluable mentorship and practical training from some of the world's best female DJs. This experience further honed her skills and solidified her passion for DJing.

Lisa's DJ sets predominantly feature dancehall and Afrobeat music, which have the innate ability to uplift people's spirits and get them moving. Her playlist is carefully curated with joyful tracks that inspire people to hit the dance floor and vibe to the rhythm.

Artists such as Burna Boy and Mafikizolo serve as a tremendous source of inspiration for Lisa. She admires their ability to seamlessly blend various genres and effortlessly fit into different music categories. Their versatility inspires her to push boundaries and explore new musical avenues.

Through her craft, Lisa has a clear vision to promote African music in all its facets. She aspires to be recognized as one of the best female DJs in Africa, actively contributing to putting African music on the global map.
