J MASTA

Anga Simbabalwe Jakuja is an up-and-coming director of J MUSIC who grew up in EmaXesibeni in the Eastern Cape. He is a versatile producer, Artist, Recording, and Mixing Engineer who goes by the stage name J Masta. He has a wide range of skills and produces pop, Afropop, Afro-Soul, Kwaito, hip hop, dance, and maskhandi, and is looking to introduce a unique South African wave to the world.

In 2017, J Masta dropped an EP titled ThuluMamele under YMag Publishers. He has worked with Olothando Ndamase and Lerato Mgadi, both also from Emaxesibeni. They worked on a song titled 'Bhasobha wena', which debuted on their local radio station, AFRED NZO COMMUNITY RADIO. He has also collaborated with Blaq Diamond, where he made a beat for their single titled 'Njalo', featuring Mono T in 2015.

He is also the original composer of the song titled Ngaqonywa by Aubrey Qwana, which went on to make waves throughout South Africa and caught the attention of the well-known Dj Tira, the CEO of AfroTainment, who then inspired a remix to be made. The song Ngaqonywa achieved its gold status in late 2019.

J Masta's work has exposed him to working with some upcoming artists like Jamvile, a duo he recorded and mixed their EP titled ICEBO, which was released early in 2019. At the moment, J Masta is busy building up J MUSIC, and he has about 5 artists of different genres, including himself. They have released an EP for their hip hop artist Marila titled Trapped Soul, which was released just for promotional purposes and also to gain exposure. Other artists are busy working, and they are planning to release anytime soon. With his talent and dedication, J Masta is set to take the music industry by storm and establish himself as a force to be reckoned with.
