Jodi Jantjies

Jodi Jantjies is a SAMA nominated artist from Cape Town, South Africa. 

Jodi first gained recognition as a 16-year-old in 2016 when she auditioned for the ATKV-Crescendo panel. Five years later, she has been groomed into one of SA’s newest music superstars, who prides herself on being a songwriter and singer, and is excited for audiences to hear her original music. She has since shared the stage with Hemelbesem, Anna Davel, Vicky Sampson etc.

Singing in both Afrikaans and English, Jodi’s talent as a writer and singer has already had many audiences and stages such as KKNK, Suidoosterfees, Aardklop, Gariepfees, Artscape and many more. In 2021 she made her debut at the famous Pierneef theatre in Pretoria. She is known for limitless style of music, there is not one genre to her sound. In 2022 Jodi shared the stage with phenomes like Tracey Lee Oliver, Zimbini, Vicky Sampson and the Lady Day Big Band for the production "Femme Fantasties" at the Artscape.

On her debut album, Jodi realised her dream collaboration when she approached her idol, singer and songwriter Karen Zoid, to duet with her on the album’s lead single, “Gee My Die Woorde” – which dropped on all digital platforms on Friday 22 October 2021. Since then Jodi has been nominated for a Fiesta for her performance at the Suidoosterfees in the production "Liedjiemakers". Her debut album 'Woorde' was nominated for a SAMA nomination for "Beste Kontemporere Album". She recently picked up two Pretoria FM Aitsa nominations for "Nuweling Van die Jaar" (Newcomer of the Year) for Gee my die Woorde ft. Karen Zoid and "Geestelike Liedjie van die Jaar" (Gospel Song of the Year) for Een Naam, both tracks are on her debut album.

Jodi draws inspiration from South African artists like Letta Mbula, Karen Zoid, Zolani Mahola and incorporates these diverse sounds into her music.
