Bio
Kever Six is a Zimbabwean musician, born Kevin Tapuwanashe Dozwa in the city of Mutare. He is a multi-instrumentalist who predominantly plays the guitar and mbira, his sound is driven by African rhythms and other Western genres. His inspiration comes from musicians like Thomas Mapfumo, Victor Kunonga, Chiwoniso Maraire and West African musicians like the Super Rail Band and Salif Keita.
Kever Six started his music journey in 2010 as a DJ in dancehall circles, with his friend they formed the stable TOKZIK EMPIRE SOUND, and in 2016 he recorded a live mixtape. In March 2018 he started to learn the guitar and in the month of May the same year he enrolled for a National Certificate in Music program at a local College.
Currenly Kever Six is a session guitarist and mbira player, he is also the lead guitarist in DEZE RAWASU BAND and BLACK FIRM BAND. As a solo musician Kever Six has done guitar and mbira work for various musicians. Besides playing music he is also a music tutor who teaches both instruments and music theory.
