My name is Nneko Moshoeshoe, by stage name BlacknoteZA, I am a resolute jazz student at Tshwane university of technology, and I am a third-year student, I am based at Springs Kwa-Thema. Music has always been a huge part of my life and through my journey I always keep shaping my craft and professional growth.
I draw inspiration from a jazz pianist Mr. Mduduzi Mtshali, who mentored me during my time at his academy. His guidance influenced my passion and growth in my craft, allowing me to explore and contribute to my musical experience.
With experience across various genres, including Gospel, Soul, R&B, Jazz, and electronic music—I have had the privilege of sharing my talents with audiences and collaborating with different artists. My goal is to create music that tells a story about how cultural revolution affect our everyday life and inspirations that brings visions to life.
I was born in QwaQwa, Free State, and raised in KwaThema. My musical journey began at the age of eleven, inspired by watching my older brother's classical piano practice during his high school years. Captured by the melodies and techniques, I started exploring the piano, laying the foundation for my passion in music.
At 19, I transitioned into professional performance. In 2021, I had the privilege of playing my first show at the Jeam Beam Sessions alongside Morena Leraba. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I took part in the Standard Bank Youth Festival with Spoek Mathambo as part of the Afro Jazz Giants, adapting to new performance landscapes and displaying resilience in challenging times. I am a musician, music director, arranger, producer, and performer with a passion for innovation and high-energy stage presence. My brand is about the combination of live performance and new unique sound production, combining beat-making, neo-soul, and sampling to create a unique sonic experience. My brand brings out for its energetic performances that leaves a mark and create an impact. I blend different musical perspectives using sounds to create unique sounds creating more ways to enhance the performance for different shows and artists, my brand the BlacknoteZA serves as a universal language, giving a voice to the unheard through vibration I make my clients dance like they are spineless. Whether on stage, in the studio, or scoring for film and advertisements, I bring new and fresh sounds to every project, aiming to inspire and expand my musical experiences. My mission is to innovate, inspire, and transform the way people experience music.
