Bio
Nthabiseng TeReo SapphireSoul is a 29 year old multi-skilled artist, musician, activist and researcher from Lesotho.
She prides herself in her ability to use music and art as a healing medium in her community, country and globally. In April 2020, SapphireSoul released an EP 'SETLHARE' and later partnered with Morija Arts Centre MAC(A non profit Arts organization situated in Morija Lesotho. MAC is also a subsidiary organization of Morija Museum and Archives) to release the first Sesotho educational album called 'Ithute Vol 1' (Educate Yourself). The ten track album seeks to entertain and educate young children about Basotho Culture and heritage.
In February 2020, SapphireSoul partnered with a German organisation called GIZ to host a music workshop in one of the remote districts in Lesotho called Qacha's Nek through a civil group called PISA. This is where she used the discipline of music to teach and educate about freedom of expression to local village members.
As of September 2020, SapphireSoul compiled the 'Ithute Vol 2' album which was released in January 2021. This second educational album was dedicated to Basotho kids and to those who wish to learn about Lesotho and it's heritage.
In February 2021, she then released her first album titled MOCHOLOKO, meaning Traditional Cosmologist and Apprentice. This is a body of work that encompasses her recent spiritual journey and as she puts it, this is a compilation for healing during this trying times of the pandemic. Mocholoko is found on all music platforms as well as SETLHARE EP.
Nthabiseng has created a couple of music work, from singles, to short EPs and Albums which call all be experienced online and currently working and collaborating with other local artists to compile Volume 3 of Ithute Educational Album.
