Pieter Smal
Bio
Pieter Smal is a professional pianist and composer from South Africa who specialises in video game music and film.
Smal is the recipient of two SAMRO music composition bursaries. He has received master classes from Mia Makaroff, Ivan Moody and Mikolai Stroinski after studying composition with Alexander Johnson.
Smal frequently performs as a pianist in public together with Bach, Mozart, Chopin, and Liszt. As composer he chiefly draws inspiration from Mozart, Chopin, John Williams, Jeremy Soule, and Troels Folmann.
Besides music, he scored soundtracks for two published video games namely Monsters & Medicine and The Adventures of Sam Carlile.
