SENZO MDAMBA BIO

Senzo Mdamba is a composer, song writer, session musician, bassist from a small town, north of KwaZulu Natal called Newcastle. Now based in Durban. Where he studied Diploma in jazz and popular music at the University of KwaZulu Natal. He has worked with various artists around South Africa such as Naima Kay, Mondli ngcobo, Zandie Khumalo, Kelly Khumalo, Azana, Phindi P, Hle, Khaya Mthethwa, Sbu Mashiloane, Xolisa Dlamini, Khaya Mahlangu, Bheki Khoza and Andile Yenana just to name a few.
Mdamba participated in the SABC Crown Gospel awards for the past 6 years and the Trumpet gospel awards. Has worked in musical Maria (gospel musical) and 1976 Musical(June 16).

Senzo Mdamba has also played at the Cape Town Jazz Festival, Durban Jazz Festival, Macufe, Ugu Jazz Festival.

After many years of backing different artists, Senzo Mdamba is on a journey as a solo artist.
In 2017 Mdamba started working on his original music. He did his first show at the Jazzy Rainbow in April 2018. His Debut Single “CULO” which means SONG, is available in all the digital platforms. he discribes his music is a mix of all the music he grew up listening to,(jazz, R&B, Hip pop, afro pop and gospel). African sounds with a modern feel.
