Süwi

Süwi, born Suwi Sichilongo on October 18th, 1996, is an exceptional musical talent and poet extraordinaire, poised to make waves in the music industry. With a primary influence rooted in rap music, Süwi has crafted a distinct and captivating sound by seamlessly fusing elements of jazz, blues, funk, and rock into his compositions. His ability to effortlessly blend these genres creates a sonic experience that is both refreshing and unforgettable.

Hailing from Lusaka, Zambia, Süwi's passion for music and poetry blossomed at a young age. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of artists, including rap legends such as Common, Jay-Z, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Pusha-T and contemporary artist such as Greentea Peng and so on.

Süwi’s most renowned for his poetry with novels like FiRE & STARS: in this night sky of ours & unBECOMiNG: a poetry odyssey; however he’s looking to make a mark in the music space. His unique musical style, coupled with his literary prowess, will captivate audiences and earned him recognition as an innovator in the contemporary music scene. His lyrical and melodic compositions convey raw emotions, thought-provoking narratives, and profound storytelling, resulting in an immersive and transformative experience for listeners. Süwi did a residency with the Zamrock Museum Music Management Program at Modzi Arts in May 2023.

Currently, Süwi is diligently working on a Contemporary Zamrock project with Bass Guitarist Muko. The project is currently scheduled for release in 2024, infused with the influences of rap, jazz, blues, and funk. Through this upcoming release, Süwi aims to pay homage to the rich heritage of Zamrock while pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. Fans can expect a captivating exploration of universal and relatable themes, delivered through evocative lyrics and soul-stirring melodies.
