Talé Sheezy
Bio
Mubinga Mutale Lioma Chileshe, professionally known as Talé Sheezy, is a Zambian rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and visual artist.
From his music, his visuals, quirky and distinct fashion sense to overall aesthetic, Talé Sheezy emerges as an inspirational figure in the Zambian music scene, effortlessly combining personal narratives with universal themes in his artistry.
He rose to prominence by performing at local festivals and cyphers, securing the top award for three consecutive years starting at age 16. At 18, he earned the National Arts Council of Zambia Award for Street Culture. In 2016, he released his debut mixtape, A Tale By Talé, on SoundCloud, which gained viral traction and led to a record deal with London-based label Serious Underground Music, propelling him to international charts.
Blending rap, soul, and funk, Talé Sheezy’s distinctively eclectic style resonates with the resurgence of a raw Hip-Hop sound best exemplified by legends like 2Pac, Kendrick Lamar, The Fugees, Nas and others alike. With a laid-back flow and poetic, conscious lyricism, he brings his own fresh twist to soul-infused beats.
Despite the challenge of rapping in English in a nation with 73 officially recognized dialects and tribal cultures, Talé represents Zambia’s new, globally connected generation.
With four major projects released by 2023, Talé Sheezy has cemented himself as a trailblazer and a leading figure in Africa’s authentic musical and artistic movement
