USWAZI BORN TALENTS (UBT)

This is a non-governmental organization founded in 3rd JUNE,2018 by a founder called MASUDI BASHIRI KANDORO "MANAGER KANDORO" who is Tanzanian traditional music fanatic. UBT registered under NGO with registration no. ooNGO/R/4209 and TANZANIA ART COUNCIL with no. BST-9684-2022-79. The founder's vision was to create a platform that would help unearth, nurture and develop young talent from the street as a way to preserve and promote our culture and the heritage of our ancestors through the arts. The aim is to use Tanzanian creativity whether music, dancing, drama, performing arts to continue to protect, preserve and promote our culture as Tanzanians for the benefit of future generations.
UBT has succeeded in supporting many local artists who today some have succeeded and live through their art, some artists are like MIMAH “MALKIA WA SINGELI”, Producer Kenny Touchez, WAMOTO “Fire girls” ,WASWAHILI BAND , MIKE SONG, KERRY, SO REAL , Producer Good MASTER, DOTIZO, Manager ISSA, Manager PAUL NELLY , ,DULLA MAKABILA ,EASY MAN ,TAMIMU,DJ KIDOGODOGO, DJ KWARO, MSAGA SUMU,MAKUZI COMEDIAN , SNIKA DADDY COMEDIAN , WAMWIDUKA BAND, ELLIS MANAGER, ANJELLA , COMEDIAN PUSI ,MAN FONGO, DJ MSOLOPA , VAIRAS MDUDU , VEE ARTIST, K MZIWANDA , KISA BABY and many more.

UBT Mission
To nurture youth creative in Tanzania mainland through a well-organized, coordinated and resources cultural and arts center of excellence.
Some UBT Objectives
• Create and promote safe spaces for unleashing youth talents and innovative potentials that are cultural relevant.

• Empower youth creativity and cultural activism among youth, to use their talents for influencing positive behavior, attitudes, and social change.

• Raising awareness on the usefulness of arts and talents to foster/promote the identity of the country's cultural heritage such as our tradition/tribal cultures, cultural heritage sites and tourist attractions.

• SINGELI FESTI
Singeli Festi” is an annual music festival boosting the visibility of “Singeli” music genre and culture in Tanzania since 2020, attracts more the 10,000 people and Festival takes place in every OCTOBER.

• SAUTI ZA KUMOYO
This is an artistic collaborative project between modern musician (SINGELI artists) and Traditional musicians aimed to provide platform for the talented traditional music artists to unveil their talents, strengthen creativity, express their inner voice. The project cover four region of Tanzania Mainland (Dar es salaam, Dodoma, Mtwara and Pwani), Project Funded by SWISS and NORWEGIAN embassy under NAFASI ART SPACE through Feel Free Fund.
• WAMOTO MUSIC Group “FIRE GIRLS”
The women empowerment program through ART, Young talented women musicians are selected through Audition and join together as music group named WAMOTO “FIRE GIRLS”. The musician as group will be TRAINED, BRANDED, PROMOTED and Gained music professional exposure until they become independent in a music industry.
