Walter Chawanda
Bio
Walter Chawanda was born on 29 July 1991. He grew up in Chegutu, Zimbabwe and later relocated to Liverpool, the UK. He was born in a family that loves music. His father was a choir master. He attended Kaguvi, Chemhanza, St John Almonds schools and Childwall Sports College. He has an album called ‘More of You’ and a single titled ‘Oh Give Thanks’ which was well-received.
In 2013, he won a chairman's award for upcoming artist of the year at the ZIMAA UK awards in addition to being nominated for the people's choice award at the Zim Achievers Awards. His music has been well appreciated by Zimbabweans in the country and those who abroad. This has seen him nominated at the Africa Gospel Music Awards 2014 (AGMA) for the Discovery of the Year category.
In July 2014, he partnered with the Sungano star, Sharon Manyonganise, to put together yet another hit titled 'God Did It'. His music has seen him establishing links with some of the renowned gospel artists from different countries such as Sonnie Badu, Atta Boafo and Allen Burton.
