Call for applications: Copyright training in Kenya
The GoDown Arts Centre, a creative space for artists and media practitioners in Nairobi, Kenya, is calling on individuals operating in the creative economy to take part in its annual copyright course between 28 January and 21 April 2020.
The course, titled CopyrightX, is a 12-week course developed by Prof William W Fisher III for Harvard Law School. The course explores current copyright law, the impact of that law on the arts and entertainment industry, and the ongoing debate concerning how the law should be reformed.
“It is an excellent opportunity for those in the creative economy to enrich their knowledge and understanding of copyright,” the GoDown Arts Centre said.
“The strength of GoDown as one of Kenya’s leading centres for arts and culture lies in its diverse programming: the training and development of artists, alongside sector impacting events such as creative entrepreneurship, and copyright courses, and local events.”
