
Call for applications: Fellowships for musicians, scholars and researchers in Germany
Applications are now open for fellowships at the Hamburg Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS) in Germany. The fellowships will take place in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic years.

Launched in January 2019, HIAS seeks to provide scholars, researchers and artists of distinction a space of intellectual freedom to pursue their research projects under excellent conditions on-site in Hamburg.
Who can apply?
- Musicians.
- Visual artists.
- Established scholars.
- Promising early career researchers.
HIAS is accepting applications in the following fields:
- Arts.
- Humanities and social sciences.
- Life sciences.
- Natural sciences.
- Engineering.
Requirements
The following should be submitted in PDF format:
- Cover letter.
- CV, including awards and other distinctions.
- List of publications (highlighting the two most relevant publications for the intended research project).
- Abstract of an intended research project (three pages maximum).
Selected fellows will receive the following from HIAS:
- Compensation of a fellow's salary or cost for a possible substitute at their home institution.
- Travel expenses.
- A monthly stipend for daily expenses.
