Call for applications: Chamber music scholarship in Germany
The Moritzburg Festival Academy is offering a full scholarship to young musicians around the globe. The programme will take place between 2 and 16 August 2020 in Germany.
The academy will select young musicians to create chamber music that will be presented as part of the 28th edition of Moritzburg Festival, which takes place during the residency period. Selected participants will benefit from a full scholarship and from the guidance of internationally renowned festival soloists.
The application process is based on videos and not live performances.
The application deadline is 2 March.
Who can apply?
The academy is open to music students aged between 16 and 26 years playing the following instruments:
- Strings.
- Woodwinds and brass (except tuba).
Requirements
- Portrait photo.
- Video(s) presentation of a whole piece or a single movement. In the video recordings you can present either of the two pieces:
- One piece from the baroque or classical repertoire.
- One piece from the romantic or 20th/21st century repertoire.
Moritzburg Festival Academy will provide the selected participants with the following:
- Full board and accommodation.
- Free individual coaching (Moritzburg Festival).
- Reimbursement for participants upon presentation of original receipts and up to a maximum amount of €500 (about $550) for non-European countries.
Travel between Moritzburg and the place of residence is to be organised by the participant directly.
