Mico Myiza
Bio
Isaie Mico Myiza is a Rwandan children's content exec, musician, singer, songwriter, short stories writer, translator, and books editor. He holds a BA in Translation & Interpretation Studies he got from the National University of Rwanda in 2012.
Mico Myiza is known for his unique way of blending traditional Rwandan music style with the Afro-fusion. He recorded his first song ever in 2008 after winning the song writing competition organised by Heza Project in collaboration with Kimisagara Youth Centre. Afterwards, he didn’t position himself in music professionally as he preferred concentrating on his university studies.
In 2015 he made a brilliant comeback with his single “Uwimicomyiza” followed by “Igikobwa”, which gave him a remarkable exposure due to its nomination for the TV10’s Iwacu Night video of the month in September 2015.
His recent released single is “Mwita Mama” which he recorded on the occasion of the 2016 Mother’s Day celebration.
Mico Myiza performed in the 6th Annual Kigali Up Music Festival which took place at Amahoro National Stadium from 30th to 31th July 2016. Music lovers who attended the festival were thrilled with his unshakeable stamina on stage, playing his unique music style alongside Trezzor Band.
Mico Myiza is currently on a hiatus and plan to resume the recording of his debut album that will also feature four singles "Uwimicomyiza", "Igikobwa", "Nyiramubande" and "Mwita Mama" which he respectively released to serve as pre-promotional tools for his album.
