Call for entries: 2020 Piton International Film Festival
Piton International Film Festival (PIFF) is calling on filmmakers around the world to submit entries for its annual event, which will be held online from 18 to 29 August.
PIFF, which normally takes place on the Caribbean island of St Lucia, is a 12-month programme that focuses on celebrating filmmaking and seeks to work collaboratively with filmmakers around the world.
PIFF provides filmmakers with an opportunity to understand the various aspects of the global film industry through workshops and seminars while also assisting independent content creators with opportunities to expose and monetise their work.

The focus of PIFF includes:
- Addressing the various aspects of the billion-dollar filmmaking industry.
- Understanding filmmaking from "in front of the camera to behind the camera" through workshops and seminars.
- Assisting independent filmmakers with opportunities to expose and monetise their creative artwork.
- Celebrating filmmaking in its various forms.
Awards and prizes
Due to the focus of PIFF being about education, collaboration and celebration, PIFF participants will be awarded the following:
Filmmakers whose works are screened during the festival will:
- Receive six-months of social media exposure on all of PIFF platforms.
- Be able to discuss their creative artwork with the general public and others in the film industry.
- Participate on a filmmaker’s panel discussion.
- Conduct interviews with UCCN TV.
Rules and terms
Participants of PIFF are expected to meet the following criteria in order to be considered for participation in the 12-month initiative and culminating film festival:
- Submit family friendly creative artwork. Family-friendly is defined as creative artwork that can be watched by families with individuals ranging in age.
- Sensitive topics done in a tasteful manner. Sensitive topics include intimacy, domestic violence, pornography, etc.
- Submit creative artworks that are: uplifting, overcoming obstacles, humorous, entertaining and informative/educational.
NB: All non-English language films must be subtitled in English.
