Call for applications: Artist residency in Germany
German association Otte1 – Schleswig-Holsteinisches Künstlerhaus is calling on all artists to apply for a scholarship to attend its residency in Germany in 2021.
The organisation awards 27 scholarships that are funded by the Ministry of Culture of Schleswig-Holstein every year.
Otte1 is a place for artistic work and international encounters in Eckernförde in Germany’s north. It promotes professional artists in the fields of visual arts, literature and music composition by awarding residency grants.
The scholarships are awarded as work scholarships for a different number of months. Four studios are available for rent free of charge, and the scholarship holders will also receive financial support of €700 ($840) per month.
Who should apply?
Candidates from the following fields can apply:
- Music.
- Literature (writers).
- Fine arts.
The scholarships do not necessarily have to be project based. Research and elaboration work is also funded.
How to apply
- The application is by portfolio and can only be made online. The deadline for applications is 31 August.
- A professional jury will judge the applications by the end of each year. The selected holders of scholarships will be informed by the association about the time, length and level of funding of their scholarship.
- Rejection letters will not be sent. The scholars will be published on Künstlerhaus' official website.
