Call for registration: Kenyan creative industry database
A call for registration has been issued by the Kenyan Film Commission. The initiative seeks to create a database of freelancers, companies and associations working in the Kenyan TV, film and media industries.
Established under the Ministry of Information and Communication, the commission is mandated to coordinate and certify individuals, association and organisation participating in the production of film, photography, video, stills, animation, new media and related media.
The commission is accepting registrations in 25 categories:
- Music.
- Associations and guilds.
- Cinematographer.
- Directing.
- Gaming designers/producers.
- New media.
- Production.
- TV and film distribution companies.
- Writers.
Requirements
Interested individuals or establishments should:
- Be Kenyan-based.
- Be a Kenyan-based company providing facilities or services to the film, music and TV industries.
- Be a Kenyan building or space available to use as a location for the film, music and TV industries.
- Provide at least one paid, verifiable and professional media industry (film, TV, commercial, animation, visual effects (VFX), XR (VR, AR, MR) or video game) job credit that corresponds with each selected category.
- Include an active link to their website or other page detailing their professional experience.
NOTE:
- The association must be a media industry-related (film, TV, commercial, animation, VFX, XR or video game) organisation.
- Animation, film and video game schools must be recognised institutions that offer courses related to film, TV, commercial, animation, VFX, and video games.
There are no registration deadlines. The registration process is online and accessible at any time.
Individuals or establishments looking to take part in the registration drive by the Kenya Film Commission are required to fill this form.
