SA: Nasty C releases Zulu Man With Some Power album
South African rapper Nasty C has released his 20-track album titled Zulu Man With Some Power.
The album was released on Def Jam Recordings and features such artists as T.I., Tellaman, Ari Lennox, Rowlene, Lil Gotit and Lil Keed. Zulu Man With Some Power is available for download and streaming on all leading digital platforms. Some of the featured songs include ‘Kingshit’, ‘Steve Biko’, ‘That’s Hard’, ‘Overpriced Steak’, Feeling’ and ‘LaVida Loca’.
To celebrate the release of the album, Nasty C dropped the ‘Bookoo Bucks’ single featuring Lil Keed and Lil Gotit. The song was recorded in Atlanta during Nasty C’s time in the city and was produced by ATL Jacob.
“It’s an exciting time and I can’t wait to hear the feedback from my fans,” Nasty C said. “I offered them something a little different with this album. I have some great features from artists that I respect. Check it out. I don’t think you will be disappointed."
Described by Billboard as "South Africa’s best bet for a mainstream crossover", Nasty C has delivered hit after hit ahead of the album’s release with singles like ‘There They Go’, ‘They Don’t’ featuring T.I. and ‘Eazy’, and ‘Palm Trees’, cementing his spot as one of Africa's next big global sensations. In July, he teamed up with US-Haitian hip hop DJ Whoo Kid on the release of his mixtape Zulu. In June, Nasty C and T.I. were featured on Late Night with Seth Meyers for a virtual performance of 'They Don’t'. Zulu Man With Some Power follows Nasty C’s Bad Hair (2016) and Strings and Bling (2018) albums.
He shot to stardom in 2014 with his boundary-breaking second mixtape Price City and ‘Juice Back’ – a continent-wide single that became an instant hit and was remixed by Davido and Cassper Nyovest. Nasty C has won many accolades at the Metro FM Music Awards, South African Music Awards and the African Muzik Magazine Awards. He has also received nominations at the BET Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards.
