Tanzanian musician arrested with drugs in Lagos.
A Tanzanian musician has been arrested by the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for allegedly possessing 25 kg of hard drugs. According to the Weekly Trust, the Tanzanian, Sekwoa Morris Mackindoshi, was arrested on Thursday during screening of passengers booked on a Kenya Airways flight destined for South Africa at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport. He was allegedly found with a bag containing ephedrine, a banned substance in Nigeria.
On further questioning, he claimed to be in Nigeria for a music concert. He claimed to have been given the bag by two men, a Nigerian and a white man. “I was to deliver the bag to someone in South Africa but unfortunately, I was arrested here,” he said.
The NDLEA Airport commander, Hamisu Lawan, said that the Tanzanian was arrested alongside Eneh Chinedu Innocent, Nzube-chukwu Amaizu John, Okafor Onyeka Obiajulu and Udechukwu Pascal Onyeka, all of whom were found in possession of cocaine.
