Nic Burger ran one of South Africa’s leading dance labels 1998 – 2008 namely RPM Dance. Selling multiple #1 singles as well as discovering artists like Ryan Murgatroyd (Crazy White Boy) and even signing a Hardwell hit long before he was even known to anyone. 2008 – 2009 time was spent at South Africa’s 3rd largest mobile operator as content strategist for their music platform. 2009 saw him join the Soul Candi crew where he developed artists social media such as Mi Casa and of course turned Soul Candi into one of the most powerful music brands on South African Social Media. He also started his own label F! Records in conjunction with Soul Candi which signed artists such as Blasterjaxx, Bingo Players, Avicii etc as well as Crazy White Boy who was the companies first global export. Shortly before he left Soul Candi in 2014 he signed the hit single “Paint Me Like a French Girl” which was the first SA Club Track to appear on UK Club Chart top 10 in over 12 years. 2014 saw Nic join Universal Music Group where he started U Dance SA and worked artists such as Avicii, Tiesto, deadmau5, Afrojack and many more. Before leaving the Label Side of business Nic has many Gold, Platinum and even Quadruple platinum records to his name. Not surprising he signed over 7000 licenses and sold in excess of 7 000 000 records in South Africa.
More recently Nic has moved into the Content and Platform manager role for The Kleek (Universal Music Group owned platform) which is one of Africa’s largest music streaming radio services. With over 10 000 000 activations the Kleek is free to all Samsung users and offers the global as well as localized music offering.
