MTN Liberia Music Awards 2020: All the winners

The awards platform celebrates outstanding artists, music professionals and other stakeholders in the country’s music landscape. 

Eric Geso – who is known for local hits ‘World Best’, ‘I Hear Something’ and ‘You For My One’ – defeated colleagues MC Caro, TeddyRide, Kpanto, Boifatty and J Slught to win the award. He takes over from rapper Bucky Raw, who walked home with the overall prize last year.

“I’m humbled,” Eric Geso said in acknowledgement of his big win. “Thank you, Liberia, thank you MLMAs. God is the greatest.”

Other winners include J Slught, whose Home and Beyond won Album of the Year, and MC Caro, who was named Best Female Artist of the Year. Trille took home the New Artist of the Year Award, with rapper CO.Z emerging as Hip Hop Artist of the Year.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Burna Boy was named International Artist of the Year.
