SoundCloud partners with Rotor Videos
AI-powered music video creation app Rotor Videos last week announced that it had partnered with SoundCloud.

The new deal will give SoundCloud Pro Unlimited members a 20% discount on Rotor’s services, which let artists and labels create music and lyric videos in minutes. Users who don't have video-editing skills or knowledge can also use the service.
Rotor recently launched a number of new subscription plans, including a DIY tier, which costs $19 per month. There’s also a Pro and Indie plan, as well as other bespoke packages available to bigger labels.
“It is a privilege to partner with SoundCloud as a renowned company trusted and utilised by so many musicians globally, and whose business values align with Rotor’s,” Rotor Videos CEO Diarmuid Moloney said. “We both strive to provide tools to empower the spectrum of talent in the creative communities we serve, with one place to engage an audience, polish and finish creations, monetise music and distribute to the world.”
Meanwhile, SoundCloud launched its profile verification feature last week, which means official blue checkmarks now show up on profiles of verified creators.
The company says the feature will help well-known artists keep their authenticity and stand out, while assisting listeners to identify the artists more easily. The orange Pro star badges will now live exclusively on the profiles of Pro subscribers to avoid being misused or misinterpreted as verification. Pro Unlimited users who apply for verification will also be first in line.
SoundCloud has already blue-checked a number of its top performing musicians, including Davido, Billie Eilish, Wiz Khalifa and Trippie Redd, among others. Artists who would like to request verification must have an account that meets the following requirements:
- It represents a well-known and/or highly searched-for artist, collective, DJ, label, curator or podcaster.
- It must be a unique profile. SoundCloud does not verify fan accounts or impersonators.
- It doesn’t contain any misleading information and adheres to SoundCloud’s terms of use.
- It must have a bio, profile photo and at least one track uploaded.
To apply for verification, creators can log on to SoundCloud.com on their desktops and click on the Request Verification button under settings. It could take up to 30 days for the company’s team to review the verification request.
