Call for entries: Stringed instrument compositions
The Pizzicato Publishing company in Luxembourg is inviting musicians who play string instruments from around the world to submit entries for its catalogue of orchestra, solo and ensemble music.
Requirements
Interested musicians should note the following:
- Entries must be in finale (.mus) format.
- Entries should be neatly edited. Entrants may include or omit bowings.
- Entries may be edited to fit the educational market and to conform to Pizzicato Publishing’s formatting standards. Do not submit a piece if unwilling to accept some edits.
- Musicians must own the copyright to the piece, or it must be an arrangement of a public-domain work. Pizzicato Publishing will not seek permission to arrange, etc.
- Entries that are atonal or non-harmonic will not be considered.
Submissions can be made in the following categories:
- String orchestra (violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello and bass) The piano and/or harp can be included by no percussion.
- Traditional string quartet (violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello).
- Mixed string quartet (any four-string instruments).
- Mixed string trio (any three-string instruments).
- Mixed string duet (any two-string instruments).
- String instrument solos with or without piano accompaniment.
Why participate?
- Composers receive a generous 50% royalty.
- Selections are professionally recorded.
- Pieces are submitted to state festival lists.
- Sheet music is sold online and at music educator trade shows.
