Nigerian musicians featured in Zone 3 Live concert
Nigerian acts The Cavemen, Singah and Magnito will be featured in Freeme Digital’s Zone 3 Live virtual concert on 18 December.
They will be joined by Anita, Maka, Ninety, PsychoBarz and others. The show will be broadcast on Freeme Digital's Facebook page and its YouTube channel from 7pm GMT.
The event is courtesy of Freeme Digital, in collaboration with the Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF), and forms part of the Music In Africa Live (MIAL) series, which is aimed to support African musicians during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The concert will run under the theme, Sounds of the New Decade and will showcase the new age of African music and explore its relationship with genres around the world. Zone 3 Live creates premium content for African entertainment and promotes African culture through music and related aesthetics.
“Freeme Digital is delighted to partner with the Music In Africa Foundation on this timely initiative and the attention it brings to indigenous sound and culture,” Freeme Digital CEO Michael Ugwu said. “This alliance further strengthens the fast-evolving African entertainment ecosystem as the world navigates through the pandemic.
He added: “At Freeme Digital, we promote and showcase African artists and their music to a global audience with a focus on Africa, and that is what this partnership is about for us. We do not just want to take Africa to the world, but rather, bring the world to Africa.”
The organisers said the Zone 3 Live concert would merge two Freeme shows, namely the A3 and Zone Out sessions. The former show provides a platform for vocalists to render a three-part medley of original compositions and/or songs of other acts, while the latter session caters to hip hop talent.
