Call for applications: Nafasi Art Space arts programme in Tanzania
Nafasi Art Space, in partnership with the Swiss Embassy in Tanzania, is accepting applications for their Nafasi Curatorial Academy – an arts management programme, which will run between 8 February and 3 July 2021.

The programme aims at providing aspiring cultural workers with the theoretical foundation, skills, networks, and platforms they need to establish a professional career in the arts.
"This first edition of the programme is open to Tanzanian applicants only," Nafasi Art Space director Rebecca Yeong Ae Corey told Music In Africa. "The programme’s inspiration is to further the understanding and awareness that cultural work itself has as a creative practice. We also want to emphasise that all stakeholders must work towards a common goal for the arts to thrive."
The Nafasi Curatorial Academy programme will include:
- Intensive workshops.
- Masterclasses by professionals.
- Internships and/or work placements.
- Support for an individual or group production.
Eligibility
Applications are available in the following categories:
- Music
- Performing arts
- Visual arts
- Theatre
- Literature
- Digital art and new media
- Architecture
- Dance
- Design
- Festivals
- Museums
- Publishing
Participants will be required to research, conceptualise, and realise their cultural production in the following formats:
- Performances
- Exhibitions
- Screenings
- Talks
