Sauti Sol to launch new album in five Kenyan towns

Kenyan pop group Sauti Sol understand this too well. To promote their latest album, Live and Die in Afrika, which was first released in November 2015, the band is embarking on a countrywide tour to promote their album, visiting smaller towns where music fans do not often get to see such big names perform.

The band officially launched the album in February at Nairobi's Ngong Racecourse. From 16 April until 14 May they will tour to five different towns in Kenya in what has been touted as Kenya’s biggest music tour. The first stop will be in Nakuru, where it is expected to be the biggest concert local music fans have experienced in a long while. In an official statement the band said: “We are super excited to be in Nakuru for our Live and Die in Afrika tour. We haven’t had a proper concert in Nakuru - mainly because our catalogue wasn’t big, but right now we have the ammunition to rock Nakuru. We promise that this will be as thrilling as it could get!”

The dates for the countrywide tour are:

• 16 April: Nakuru Athletics Club
• 23 April: Eldoret Sports Club
• 30 April: Kisumu Simba Club
• 7 May: Meru Technical
• 14 May: Mombasa Sports Club

Speaking recently to local newspaper The Star, the band's manager Marek Fuchs said after the national tour there are plans to tour the rest of Africa, as well as Europe, Asia and America. “Soon we are releasing our collaboration with South African house band Mi Casa. We are also focusing a lot more on our social initiative called the Soma Soma Initiative," Marek said of the bands activities in 2016.
