Call for applications: British Council digital skills programme in SA
The British Council is calling on creative and social enterprises in South Africa to apply for its three-week digital skills programme, which begins on 24 March.
The programme supports creative and social enterprises with skills, networks and other capabilities to access jobs or start and grow businesses that employ themselves and others. It aims to focus on ‘impact enterprise’ with a key emphasis on inclusion and decent job creation, through capacity building for entrepreneurs.
The programme will use digital tools and platforms to assist creative and social entrepreneurs in building robust entrepreneurial structures, in order to capacitate them to leverage opportunities within the broader social enterprise network and sector.
Applicants will need to commit to the following:
- Registration on the online platform.
- 10 hours of self-managed online learning.
- Attend five facilitated workshops, twice a week, that are three and half hours long.
Interested applicants can apply here.
The submission deadline is 18 March.
“Given the COVID-19 climate, a number of entrepreneurs are needing to migrate their business operations to digital platforms and ways of working,” the British Council said.
“The digital skills programme has been set up to respond to this climate, and set entrepreneurs up to develop digitally resilient business development processes, so that they can leverage opportunities within the marketplace.”
